Ongoing Offerings

In addition to introductory and advanced programs for members, the Shambhala Meditation Center of St Johnsbury offers an array of ongoing, weekly mindfulness meditation offerings and book study groups free to the public. No prior meditation experience required to attend. Most programs offer meditation instruction upon request. All are welcome.

Our aim is to encourage anyone who wishes to join with others to meditate and contemplate.  Join with us online on any Sunday morning for meditation practice and contemplation.  All are invited.  Meditation instruction is available. Attendance is free.

 

Weekly Study Groups – Open to the Public

Presented in three volumes,  The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma represents Chogyam Trungpa’s greatest contribution to Western Buddhism. This text presents a complete map of the Tibetan Buddhist path from beginning to middle to end, from a teacher who had an extraordinary ability to convey the buddhadharma to the hearts and minds of his students.

Wednesday Evening Study Group: The Path of Individual Liberation – Hinayana teachings of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche | Volume One of the Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma  

Open to the public, the group meets online on Wednesdays from 6:45 – 8:00 pm.  Each week we’ll read aloud and discuss the text The Path to Individual Liberation, which is the comprehensive guide to the body of Buddhist teachings known as the hinayana.

The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma – Volume 3: The Tantric Path of Indestructible Wakefulness Tuesdays Book Study Group

Each week, attendees will read and then discuss the text, starting at the beginning, working to the end. The pace will be determined by the group. As always, newcomers are welcome and sought.
