Contentment in Everyday Life

The Shambhala Meditation Center of St. Johnsbury is pleased to offer the second course in the the Way of Shambhala series:

Contentment in Everyday Life

Taught by Jane Arthur and Madge Rossinoff

Thursday evenings – June 5, 12, 19, 26, and July 3, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00

Contentment can be hard to find. Much of the time we search for contentment in things, achievements or relationships. This course provides an exploration of genuine contentment, the foundational views of the Buddhist teachings, and meditation in action for daily life. With meditation practice, we can learn to appreciate ourselves and simple human experiences, free from self-aggression. Difficult emotions and the challenges of life can be met with gentleness, steadiness, and humor.

The course is open to all, beginning meditators as well as more seasoned practitioners. Classes will include meditation, talks and readings.

Completion of this course is the prerequisite to attend the Joy in Everyday Life course.

Cost: $65 or $75 if inspired to support the St. Johnsbury Shambhala Center’s activities at the Patron level.
