Our communities have been forever changed by the effects of social media, computer technology and globalization in a way that has reduced the amount of time we have to spend with family and friends and changed the way we communicate with them.

We will present a pre-recorded weekend program from the Shambhala Meditation Center of Denver that will give you insights to the importance of conversation, tools to improve your conversation ability, and practice in the art of good conversation.

In his new book The Lost Art of Good Conversation, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche uses the basic principles of the Shambhala tradition — meditation and a sincere belief in the inherent wisdom, compassion, and courage of all beings — to help readers listen and speak more mindfully with loved ones, co-workers, strangers, and even ourselves.

Join us for the Friday night meditation and discussion with the Sakyong and guests to hear a variety of perspectives on why good conversation is so important in these challenging times. The first step toward forging a stronger relationship with our friends, family and fellow citizens is to develop the relationship we have with ourselves.

Then on Saturday, Lodro Rinzler will host a day-long retreat with teacher Susan Piver, featuring another talk by the Sakyong.
