    Room: Online

    Excerpt from the cover jacket:

"The third volume presents the vajrayana teachings of the tantric path. The vajrayana or "diamond vehicle" draws upon and extends the teachings of the hinayana and mahayana...

The tantric path requires complet engagement and fierce dedication. It is said to be a more rapid path, but it is also more dangerous. There is a quality of directness, abruptness, and wholeheartedness.Tantrikas, or vajrayana practitioners, recognize that the most challenging aspects of life, the energies and play of confused emotions and frightening obstacles, can be worked with as gateways to freedom and realization."

Coordinator David Hollocher notes, "I'm starting this volume with some trepidation--I've found the material challenging.  I even asked Judy Lief about it, her answer: 'Go ahead and study it. Every once in a while, you'll understand something!'"

Michael McLellan recently gave a talk, "Why Practice Vajrayana."  It is a very good introduction and useful for anyone wondering about whether to study this material. Please register to receive a link to the recording.

    About the Study Group

Each week, we read and discuss the text, starting at the beginning, working to the end. The pace will be determined by the group.  As always drop-ins and newcomers are welcome and appreciated. Volume III is about 800 pages. We usually study 5-10 pages each week. We are a diverse group with newer practitioners and some who attended seminary with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. New voices further enrich the discussion.

The Zoom Room opens at 6:45 PM ET.  Study begins at 7:00 PM. We stop at 8:30 PM ET.

There is no charge for the study group.
